Chinese steel product export increases in January

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Feb 11 - According to statistics of China Customs, the finished steel export amount reached 3.12 million tons in January, 2011, increasing by 270,000t and 8.2% month on month and year on year respectively.
This January, China imported 1.64 million tons of finished steel, increasing by 230,000t and 21.6% month on month and year on year respectively. The import amount of steel billet was 80,000t, increasing by 10,000t and 126.5% month on month and year on year respectively.
In addition, China exported 190,000t of coking coal in January, witnessing a year-on-year increase of 400.7%. The iron ore import amount was 68.97 million tons, increasing by 10.89 million tons and 47.9% month on month and year on year respectively.
