BEIJING (Asian Metal) 18-Feb-2005 The bismuth supply gets tight at present in China for the shortage of raw materials coupled with the decreasing stockings.
“We intend to purchase 20 tons spot materials, but many smelters can’t supply so much,” said a Jiangxi based major trader, adding, ”those who can are reluctant to accept a price at around rmb65000/t for the tight supply although the current predominant market price is just in the range of rmb64000-65000/t.”
Currently the raw materials supply relatively tightens and smelters are fighting for it, which pushes the cost to move upper.
A trader told Asian Metal that she has about 20 tons bismuth now, but doesn’t intend to export at present for the price might edge up in the coming weeks in view of the tight supply of bismuth. Now the export price comparatively stabilizes at $3 . 18-3.28/lb CIF Europe.
