Molybdenum scraps prices moving down in China

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 25 Jan 10- Price of molybdenum waste and scraps moved down last week after it kept climbing early January. According to sources, buyers are delaying purchase plan, so demand was slow in the past weeks.
A Hebei-based source usually collects waste molybdenum wire from Hebei and Beijing offers RMB185/kg (USD27.08/kg) for the material, down by RMB10/kg (USD1.46/kg) compared with it was early last week.
The highest offer was in the range of RMB200-205/kg (USD29.28-30.01/kg) in local area in January, added the source, lamenting that demand for waste molybdenum wire has not enlarged yet, mostly unchanged compared with that at the end of last year.
A Hunan-based collector confirmed that demand from user remains slow, so they bought few molybdenum scraps, offering RMB144,000/t (metal ton) (USD21.08/kg metal ton) for molybdenum scraps 40%min, down by RMB10,000/t (metal ton) (USD1.46/kg metal ton) in last week .
With monthly trade volume of 20-30t of molybdenum and tungsten scraps, the source reported that demand always recovers a little bit before Spring Festival, but buyers are delaying purchase plan as molybdenum price is rising for the moment.
