Antimony market recovers

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Jun 06 – Being slipped in the last three month, antimony market was quiet. As Chinese market starts to recover in last two weeks, European market starts to show the signs of recovery.
An Eastern European trader just bought 10 tonnes of standard grade two antimony ingot at USD4,950/t in warehouse Rotterdam. “Price of antimony is going up from the end of last week,” he told Asian Metal.
According to the source, the price was dropping in the beginning of last week, but started to rebound later in the week, and he had to buy at around USD50-100/t more expensive than last week.
An executive from an antimony mining company revealed to Asian Metal that their Asian customers are pushing him for more raw materials. “Normally, when the market is getting better, we start to receive more inquiries and they want the material fast . ”
The source claimed that they are selling antimony concentrate at the price of 55%-60% according to the current market price of the ingot. The company owns two antimony mines and has production of 100-120 tonnes every month.
