  • China to further cut export rebate rate for metals

    2006-06-07 18:04:22   【Print】

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Jun 06 – China plans to further reduce ongoing export rebate rate for metals and steel products, with some of them's possibly cancelled completely, a senior official from the State Administration of Taxation revealed.

The source claimed that the potential export rebate reform aims to reduce the export volume of those products that consume much power or cause serious pollutions, but it did not point out which metal's export rebate will be cut or radically removed.

A rumor is circulating that China may decrease the current export rebate by 2% on average for a wide range of products in the second half of 2006.
