Luoyang and JDCs'productions not affected by gold mine accident in Shaanxi

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 May 06 – Contrary to widespread speculations confusing a gold mine accident which occurred on the 30th of April in Luonan in Shaanxi province with Luoyang in Henan province, thereby erroneously concluding the operations of Luoyang Luanchuan Molybdenum Group CO., Ltd
In order not to create unnecessary panic in the market as several participants have been calling our office to know the true state of things, competent sources from the two companies—JDC and Luoyang have dispelled insinuations the operations of their respective companies will be halted.
The accident at the gold mine did occur with about 17 people missing and some others injured. However, the location of the accident scene is about 40 kilometers far from JDC's molybdenum mine, and it will not affect JDC's production .
"The accident might affect some small molybdenum mines in the local area, but it will not affect our operations," said a senior official of JDC. "Our production is regular . "
An official of Luoyang also clarified the issue: “We have no accident here in this province.” The official confirmed the company has received several calls and mails wanting clarification, adding “many people confused Luonan with Louyang.”
