Japan has decided to impose definitive anti-dumping (AD) duties ranging from 3.6% to 42.1% on imports of nickel-based cold-rolled stainless steel coils, sheets, and strips originating in China and Taiwan. The rates vary by company, ranging from 27.7% to 42.1% for Chinese products. The duties maintain the rates of the provisional measures introduced in July.
The measures will run for five years, from October 31, 2026, to October 30, 2031, finalizing the provisional duties initially applied on July 9, 2026. The determination reflects government findings that dumped imports damaged the domestic industry.
The products involved consist of alloy steel containing at least 10.5% chromium and more than 0.6% nickel by weight, classified under HS codes 7219.31, 7219.32, 7219.33, 7219.34, 7219.35, 7219.90, 7220.20, and 7220.90.
