Capacity replacement plan issued for Fushun Special Steel's electric furnace upgrade project

On October 23, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Liaoning Province issued a public notice on the capacity replacement plan for the electric furnace quality and efficiency upgrade project of Fushun Special Steel Co., Ltd.
The project involves building two 60-ton electric furnaces, each with a capacity of 460,000tpy. The construction of furnace 1 is scheduled to begin in December 2026, with commissioning planned for January 2027. Furnace 2 is scheduled to start construction in January 2027, with commissioning planned for March 2027.
A total of four electric furnaces will be dismantled to make way for the new project, withdrawing 950,000tpy of capacity. These include two 35-ton furnaces, each with a capacity of 160,900tpy, one 60-ton furnace with a capacity of 352,400tpy, and one 50-ton furnace with a capacity of 275,800tpy.
