Jiyuan Steel completes hot trial run for No. 2 caster upgrade

On October 26, Henan Jiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. completed the hot trial run of the No. 2 continuous casting machine upgrade and renovation project at its No. 1 Steelmaking Plant, marking a major technological leap for the equipment on its core special steel production line.
With a total investment of approximately RMB200 million (USD30 million), the project's overall design and core equipment supply were handled by SMS Concast. The plant was shut down for the upgrade on September 15, 2026. Mechanical installation was completed and commissioning began on October 18, culminating in the successful hot trial run on October 26.
