Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has approved the revised 2026 Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) production targets, setting coal output at approximately 700 million tons and nickel at around 290 million tons. The nickel figure is up from the roughly 250–260 million tons initially set, but still down from 379 million tons in the previous year.
Tri Winarno, Director General of Minerals and Coal, announced the figures on October 18, 2026, expressing confidence that mining operations will proceed smoothly.
Evaluation of RKAB submissions for 2027 quotas is ongoing.
