The Australian Trade Remedies Commission (ATRC), formerly the Anti-Dumping Commission, has initiated an accelerated review of anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD) applied to certain aluminum-zinc coated steel flat rolled products from China, with a focus on manufacturer Shandong Shinmade Material Tech Co., Ltd.
The review, launched following Shinmade's application on September 18, 2026, covers the investigation period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Existing trade remedy measures remain scheduled to expire on August 5, 2028.
Shinmade argues that the current measures do not reflect its own domestic sales and production costs, as the company did not participate in the original investigations and had not exported any subject products to Australia during the original probe period.
Current duties on Chinese exporters range from 21.6% to 33.0%, with certain suppliers subject to floor price arrangements and countervailing rates of 0.4% to 1.2%.
The products involved are flat rolled products of iron and non-alloy steel plated or coated with aluminum-zinc alloys, in widths equal to or greater than 600mm, whether or not surface treated, including combinations of surface treatments or resin coating.
