EU launches expiry review of anti-dumping measures on Chinese wire rods

The European Commission published Notice C/2026/5244 on October 12, initiating an expiry review of the anti-dumping (AD) duties on wire rod originating in China.
The European Steel Association (EUROFER) filed the review application on June 30, 2026, on behalf of domestic producers, to determine whether removing the existing AD measures would lead to continued or recurring dumping and injury.
The investigation covers hot-rolled bars and rods in irregularly wound coils, made of iron, non-alloy steel, or alloy steel, excluding stainless steel products. They fall under CN codes 7213 10 00, 7213 20 00, 7213 91 10, 7213 91 20, 7213 91 41, 7213 91 49, 7213 91 70, 7213 91 90, 7213 99 10, 7213 99 90, 7227 10 00, 7227 20 00, 7227 90 10, 7227 90 50, and 7227 90 95.
The dumping investigation period runs from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, while the injury assessment spans from January 1, 2023, through the end of the review investigation period.
Interested parties have 37 days to submit comments. Authorities plan to complete the investigation within 12 to 15 months.
