Jintong Copper puts phase II project into operation

The phase II project of Jintong Copper, in which Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group holds a stake, was put into operation recently.
Located in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the project involves a total investment of RMB4 billion (USD597.49 million). It adopts a domestically developed continuous converting process featuring "oxygen-enriched side-blown smelting + multi-lance top-blown converting + rotary anode refining," with a designed copper cathode capacity of 300,000tpy.
Upon reaching full production, the company will have production capacities of 550,000tpy of copper cathode and 2,000,000tpy of sulfuric acid.
