The Guangyuan Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau released a public notice on its proposed approval of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for a new energy battery materials and manganese-based precursor materials project by Sichuan Xingheng Qingyuan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. The project covers both conventional and solid-state battery materials.
Located in the Zhuangzi Biya Cluster of the Qingchuan Economic Development Zone in Sichuan Province, the project will involve the construction of production workshops, warehouses, a maintenance workshop, a comprehensive office building, hazardous waste storage facilities, and supporting infrastructure. It will also include a technical upgrade of the company's existing single-crystal manganese tetroxide production line, replacing manganese sulfate with purchased polycrystalline manganese tetroxide as the primary raw material, along with upgrades to environmental protection facilities.
Once completed, the plant will have a production capacity of 50,000tpy of new energy battery materials (including solid-state battery materials) and manganese-based precursor materials, comprising 11,250tpy of lithium manganese oxide (LMO), 35,000tpy of lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP), and 3,750tpy of single-crystal manganese tetroxide.
