Malaysia currently applies anti-dumping (AD) duties on cold-rolled steel products originating from China, South Korea and Vietnam. The products concerned are flat-rolled alloy and non-alloy steel with a thickness of 0.20 mm to 2.60 mm and a width of 700 mm to 1,300 mm. Tin mill black plate and cold-rolled steel sheets for automotive use are excluded.
Current AD duty rates range from 7.42% to 42.08%. The measures were previously extended for five years on October 9, 2021, and are due to expire on October 8, 2026.
Malaysian authorities are now conducting a sunset review, amid concerns that letting the AD duties lapse could lead to a recurrence of dumping and injury to the domestic industry.
The products under review fall under HS codes 7209.15.00.00, 7209.16.10.00, 7209.16.90.00, 7209.17.10.00, 7209.17.90.00, 7209.18.99.00, 7225.50.10.00 and 7225.50.90.00.
