KADI launches antidumping investigation into galvanised steel imports

The Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI) on Tuesday (15/9) opened an antidumping investigation into imports of zinc-coated, or galvanised, steel sheet (BJLS) from China.

KADI Chair Frida Adiati said the investigation follows a petition filed by PT Tata Metal Lestari and PT ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel Indonesia, representing the domestic industry.

"Based on an assessment of the sufficiency and accuracy of the preliminary evidence, KADI found an increase in BJLS imports from China that has caused injury to the domestic industry," Frida said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Frida explained that between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2025, Indonesia's total BJLS imports from the world reached 2,562,407 metric tonnes (MT). Of that total, 2,075,801 MT-roughly 81 percent-came from China.

She added that the antidumping investigation will run for a maximum of 12 months, extendable to 18 months if necessary.
