Germany's pig iron and crude steel output falls in July year on year

According to statistics from the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl), Germany's steel production declined in July.
Pig iron output fell 4.5% year on year to 1.66 million tons, while crude steel production also dropped, down 1.8% year on year to 2.68 million tons.
By furnace type, converter steel production decreased 4% to 1.83 million tons, whereas electric arc furnace output rose 3.3% to 849,000 tons.
In the first seven months of this year, cumulative crude steel production reached 21.31 million tons, up 6.8% from the same period in 2025.
