Hangzhou Guotai Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. (GTEP) announced on September 4 that its indirect holding subsidiary, Zhejiang Jingzhen New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., will serve as the implementation entity for the phase I construction of a new energy materials recycling and battery materials production project in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou. The total estimated investment for this phase is approximately RMB808 million (USD120.37 million).
Upon completion, the project is designed to have a recycling capacity of 100,000tpy of high-purity graphite. Part of the recycled graphite will be sold directly to the market, while the remainder will be used as feedstock for subsequent surface modification processes. In addition, the facility will have a surface modification capacity of 50,000tpy for high purity graphite used in lithium batteries.
