Eldorado eyes expanded McIlvenna Bay Copper Mill capacity

Eldorado Gold is evaluating a 43% increase in processing capacity at its McIlvenna Bay plant, alongside the addition of a new silver-lead circuit, as the Saskatchewan copper-zinc-gold-silver mine advances toward commercial production.
More than 400,000 tonnes of material have already been stockpiled for processing. The operation produced its first copper concentrate in June, followed by zinc and pyrite concentrates in July.
Situated approximately 65 kilometres west of Flin Flon, Manitoba, McIlvenna Bay introduces commercial-scale copper and zinc production-along with gold and silver by-products-to a Saskatchewan mining sector historically better known for its potash and uranium operations.
As the mine continues its ramp-up phase, production for this year is expected to reach 5 million to 10 million pounds of copper, 3,000 to 6,000 tonnes of zinc, 5,000 to 10,000 ounces of gold, and 100,000 to 200,000 ounces of silver.
Over its projected 18-year mine life, the operation is forecast to average 41 million pounds of copper, 54 million pounds of zinc, 20,000 ounces of gold, and 444,000 ounces of silver annually, according to the March 2025 feasibility study prepared by Foran.
