Syria signs 30-year agreement with Ithraa to revive Hama Steel Plant

Syria's Ministry of Economy and Industry has announced the signing of a 30-year agreement with Saudi Arabia-based Ithraa to rehabilitate, modernize, and operate the General Company for Iron and Steel Products in Hama, commonly known as the Hama steel plant. The deal was finalized on the sidelines of the 63rd Damascus International Fair.
Under the terms of the agreement, the plant will be equipped with new, state-of-the-art production lines, with its capacity set to be gradually expanded over a four-year period. The facility is expected to achieve a minimum annual production capacity of 750,000 metric tons within that timeframe.
