  • ArcelorMittal Brasil to invest in new cold rolling mill and coating lines

    ArcelorMittal Brasil, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal, has announced the approval of an investment ranging from BRL 4 billion to 5 billion (approximately $740 million to $925 million) at its Tubarao plant in Serra, Espírito Santo.Asian Metal Copyright The new continuous coating line will have an annual capacity of 560,000 metric tons and will process hot-rolled coils already produced at the Tubar?o facility.Asian Metal Copyright The funds will be used to install a new cold rolling mill and a continuous coating line.

    The investment will allow the Brazilian steelmaker to expand its production of higher-value-added cold-rolled and metallic-coated steel products, catering to the automotive, construction, and white goods industries.

    The new continuous coating line will have an annual capacity of 560,000 metric tons and will process hot-rolled coils already produced at the Tubar?o facility.

    Construction is slated to begin in 2026 and is expected to take approximately three and a half years, with commercial operations targeted to commence in the first half of 2030.
