Sichuan Jinhong Resource Recycling Co., Ltd. recently released the full environmental impact assessment (EIA) report and the public participation statement for its lithium bearing solid waste comprehensive recovery and utilization project, in accordance with local regulatory requirements. The disclosure was published by the government of Hanyuan County, Ya'an.
The project is located in the Wanli Area of Sichuan Hanyuan Industrial Park, occupying 52,116 square meters (approximately 5.2 hectares) and representing a total investment of RMB204,144,600 (roughly USD 30.37 million). It will build a new production line designed for the comprehensive recovery and utilization of lithium bearing solid waste.
Feedstock for the line includes spent pot lining (SPL) from aluminum electrolysis, carbon slag, spent electrolyte, lithium bearing glass, lithium slag, and waste lithium molecular sieves. The process chain comprises raw material preparation, pre treatment, separation, leaching, cryolite synthesis, purification and impurity removal, concentration, lithium precipitation, and crystallization. The main products will be lithium carbonate or lithium phosphate, with by products including sodium sulfate, regenerated cryolite, carbon sludge, sodium chloride, scrap iron, regenerated fine aggregate, regenerated fluorite, and scrap aluminum. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to achieve a total solid waste treatment capacity of 200,000tpy.
