American Tungsten unveils initial resource estimate for Ima Project, Idaho's highest-grade tungsten deposit

American Tungsten has released its maiden resource estimate for the Ima project in northeastern Idaho, positioning it as the state's top-grade tungsten deposit with the critical metal as its primary target. The company announced the results on Thursday, reporting 316,000 indicated tonnes at 0.55% tungsten trioxide (WO3), which translates to 1,747 tonnes of WO3 and 404,000 ounces of silver. Inferred resources stand at 2.1 million tonnes at 0.55% WO3, containing 11,933 tonnes of WO3 and 1.8 million ounces of silver. The assessment also incorporates historical surface tailings, with 267,000 indicated tonnes at 0.15% WO3, yielding 413 tonnes of WO3 and 79,000 ounces of silver.
According to American Tungsten, the Ima mine was in operation from the early 1900s until 1958, processing approximately 722,400 tons of ore into tungsten and silver-copper concentrates. The resource estimate is based on more than 5,180 metres of drilling carried out since last December, supplemented by historical data. Drilling activities continue both on the surface and underground, with the aim of upgrading inferred resources to higher confidence categories and ultimately supporting a preliminary economic assessment.
