WBMS reports global primary aluminum surplus in June

The World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) has released its latest data, showing that global primary aluminum production reached 6.0924 million tons in June, while consumption stood at 6.0602 million tons, resulting in a monthly surplus of 32,200 tons.
For the first half of 2026 (January to June), cumulative primary aluminum production totaled 36.0204 million tons, compared with consumption of 36.5055 million tons, yielding a overall deficit of 485,100 tons over the six-month period.
