China's crude steel output down 3.1% in Jan-Jul

In July 2026, China produced 68.35 million tonnes of pig iron, down 4.5% YoY, about 76.93 million tonnes of crude steel, down 3.6% YoY, and approximately 116.46 million tonnes of finished steel products, down 4.1% YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to July, pig iron output declined 3.0% YoY to around 495.77 million tonnes, and crude steel production decreased 3.1% YoY to 577.04 million tonnes or so. The output of finished steel products declined 1.2% YoY to around 836.16 million tonnes.
