Brazilian crude steel output flat in July 2026

Brazil's crude steel production totaled 2.804 million metric tons in July 2026, virtually unchanged from 2.803 million metric tons in the same month last year, according to data released by the Brazilian Steel Institute (IABR).
On a year-on-year basis, rolled product output rose 3.2% to 2.052 million metric tons. Within this category, flat product production increased 7.8% to 1.243 million metric tons, while long product output declined 3.1% to 809,000 metric tons.
Domestic steel product sales remained stable at 1.856 million metric tons. Apparent steel consumption fell 4.7% to 2.226 million metric tons. Exports decreased 2.6% to 1.012 million metric tons, while imports dropped sharply by 37.8% to 383,000 metric tons.
