Kaz Minerals announces second quarter 2026 production results

Kaz Minerals has published its production and sales report for the three-month period ended June 30, 2026.
Total copper output for the first half of 2026 reached 179.8 kt, marking a 2% decline compared to the same period last year. This decrease was primarily driven by reduced throughput at Bozshakol and lower ore grades at the East Region, which offset the solid operational performance recorded at Aktogay. Copper sales volume for the period stood at 172.9 kt, representing a 4% shortfall relative to production. This variance is attributable to shipment timing and an increase in cathode inventories in transit, as well as smelter work-in-progress at the close of the quarter.
Zinc in concentrate production rose by 6% year-on-year to 21.7 kt in H1 2026, benefiting from higher average head grades. In Q2 2026 alone, output reached 11.3 kt, a 9% sequential improvement driven by increased milling volumes.
Molybdenum in concentrate production totaled 2,205 t in H1 2026, a 3% decrease from the prior-year period. This result reflects lower output at Aktogay due to declining ore grades, although this was partially mitigated by stronger production at Bozshakol.
