Manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 137,000 metric tons in July 2026, marking a 30.5% increase month-on-month but a 24.6% decline year-on-year, according to data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.
China accounted for 65.7% of total manganese ore shipments during the month, with the remaining volumes destined for Australia and Indonesia. Port Hedland serves as the key export hub for manganese ore produced in Western Australia's resource-rich Pilbara region, handling output from mines operated by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group, and Atlas Manganese.
