First Tin has reported a 13% increase in the mineral reserve estimate for its wholly owned Taronga Tin Project in New South Wales, a development that bolsters the project's economics and extends its currently defined operating horizon by approximately one year.
The updated Proved and Probable Ore Reserves now stand at 45 million tonnes grading 0.12% tin, representing an additional five million tonnes and containing roughly 55,000 tonnes of tin. Within this total, Proven Ore Reserves rose by 19% to 31 million tonnes at 0.13% tin, up from 26 million tonnes at 0.14% tin, for 41,000 tonnes of contained tin.
A key takeaway from the update is that the additional tonnage falls entirely within the project's already permitted pit boundaries. This means First Tin has effectively expanded its resource base without the need to alter the current pit envelope, a factor that could streamline future development and reduce permitting risks.
