Selkirk Copper Mines recently announced an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its Minto copper-gold-silver project in central Yukon, Canada. The new estimate marks a significant upgrade, with measured and indicated (M&I) copper content increasing by 182% compared to the 2025 figures.
The 2026 MRE outlines 47.8 million tonnes of M&I resources grading 0.89% copper, 0.34 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, and 3.2 g/t silver. This translates to contained metal totals of 940 million pounds of copper, 530,000 ounces of gold, and 4.97 million ounces of silver.
While total M&I tonnage surged by 280%, the average grade has moderated from 1.20% copper to 0.89% copper. The company is advancing toward a production restart, targeting an initial output in mid-2028 with a processing rate of 4,100 tonnes per day over a projected mine life of 12 to 15 years.
