Zhongjin Lingnan's Fankou lead zinc mine suspends production for fatal accident

Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co., Ltd. announced on August 4 that a roof fall accident occurred on August 1 at an underground stope access of its Fankou lead zinc mine, resulting in one fatality.
In the wake of the incident, the company received a suspension order from the Shaoguan Emergency Management Bureau. The directive requires an immediate halt to all operations at the Fankou mine, a comprehensive safety inspection, and remediation of any identified issues. Production may only resume after the corrective actions have been reviewed and approved by the emergency management authorities.
The Fankou mine has now ceased production in compliance with the order. The causes of both the accident and the fatality remain under investigation, and the company has pledged full cooperation with the authorities in the investigation and follow up procedures. As the duration of the suspension is yet undetermined, Zhongjin Lingnan stated that it is currently unable to accurately estimate the impact of the shutdown on its operating results for the current quarter or the full year.
