Manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 105,000 metric tons in June 2026, representing a month-on-month decrease of 25.7% and a year-on-year drop of 35.8%, according to data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.
Of the total shipments during the month, China accounted for 89.5%, while the remaining volume was shipped to Vietnam.
Port Hedland serves as the export hub for manganese ore produced from mines operated by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group, and Atlas Manganese in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, an area rich in manganese ore deposits.
