    The groundbreaking ceremony took place on July 28 as part of a broader industrial investment initiative in the region. The steel plant is one of two major projects simultaneously launched in the Taraz industrial zone, with the combined value of both investments totaling $305 million.

    Once fully operational, the new facility is expected to have an annual production capacity of up to one million metric tons of steel products, including hot-rolled steel coils, stainless steel products, welded pipes, galvanized pipes, rebar, and other steel products.

    The first phase of the project is scheduled to commence operations in the first quarter of 2028. The construction phase is projected to generate 500 jobs, while the completed plant will provide 260 permanent positions upon full operation.
