Vietnam launches anti-dumping probe into Chinese prestressed steel bars

Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of prestressed steel bars originating from China, as per Decision No. 1903/QD-BCT issued on July 27, 2026.
The petition was filed by domestic producers Hoa Phat Prestressed Steel Co., Ltd. and Vietnam-Japan Prestressed Steel Joint Stock Company.
The dumping investigation covers the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, while the injury assessment period spans from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2026.
The subject products are silicon-manganese alloy steel bars, rods, or coils with a circular cross-section, either smooth or with spiral ribs along their length, ranging from 7.1 mm to 12.6 mm in diameter.
The products under investigation fall under HS codes 7227.20.00, 7228.20.11, 7228.20.19, and 7229.20.00.
The decision took immediate effect upon its issuance.
