New Pacific Metals updates PEA for Carangas Project in Bolivia

New Pacific Metals has released an updated preliminary economic assessment (PEA) for its Carangas project in Bolivia.
The mine is expected to have a 19-year operating life, excluding a two-year pre-production period. Over the life of the project, it is projected to produce approximately 195 million ounces of payable silver, 1.1 million ounces of payable gold, 1,453 million pounds of payable zinc, and 941 million pounds of payable lead, equivalent to 339.0 million ounces of silver equivalent.
According to the company, mining activities will take place during years 1 through 16, while production in years 17 to 19 will be sourced entirely from stockpiles. Payable silver output is expected to average about 15.5 million ounces per year during the first eight years of operation.
Based on the Mineral Resource Estimate updated in March of this year, the project hosts indicated mineral resources of 238.8 million tonnes, grading 0.28% lead (containing 1,452.4 million pounds) and 0.54% zinc (containing 2,821.3 million pounds). Inferred resources stand at 53.8 million tonnes, grading 0.27% lead (containing 324.9 million pounds) and 0.52% zinc (containing 612.3 million pounds).
The Carangas Project is situated approximately 190 kilometers southwest of Oruro, Bolivia, within the South American Epithermal Belt. This belt hosts significant precious metal deposits and active mining operations in neighboring countries, yet remains largely underexplored in Bolivia. The property consists of three exploration licenses-Granville I, Granville II, and Colapso-covering a total area of 40.75 square kilometers, and is accessible by road.
