Chinalco Shanxi puts alumina energy-saving project into operation

Recently, Chinalco Shanxi New Material Co., Ltd. completed full-scale commissioning of its alumina energy-saving and efficiency-upgrade renovation project, which has now officially entered stable production.
The project represents a total investment of RMB473 million (USD69.89 million). It builds a new 12-story open-frame steel-framework pipeline digestion production line, with total steel structure usage of approximately 4,600 tonnes. It simultaneously upgrades supporting systems, including raw material preparation and red mud settling and develops the supporting Qinyuan No. 1 Mine bauxite open-pit mining project. Upon full operation, the project will supply 900,000 tonnes of high-quality bauxite annually, providing a solid resource foundation to ensure stable and high-output alumina production.
