Arrow hits bullseye with new bauxite permit in Guinea

Arrow Minerals has secured a new three-year industrial exploration permit for its Niagara Bauxite Project in Guinea, replacing the previous licence that had been under government review.
The permit was granted through a ministerial decree by the Government of the Republic of Guinea to Arrow's wholly owned subsidiary, Mineralfields Bauxite SARLU.
Covering the same 499.61 km2 area as the earlier licence-which had been under review since May 2025-the new permit comes with fresh terms and obligations.
Under the updated agreement, Arrow is required to invest a minimum of US$1.513 million over the three-year period, with exploration activities set to begin within six months.
The permit also offers renewal options, allowing for two additional terms of up to two years each, if necessary.
Niagara remains an early-stage bauxite project, with estimated resources of 185 million tonnes at an average grade of 42.3% alumina. A preliminary economic assessment had been planned to offer an initial view of the project's financial viability, but Arrow suspended work on the study after the original permit was revoked amid a widespread cancellation of mining titles initiated by the Guinean government in May 2025.
