    China's State Council has recently issued carbon peaking action plan for 15th Five-Year Plan period.Asian Metal Copyright .Asian Metal Copyright According to the plan, iron and steel industry should promote energy-saving and carbon-reduction retrofits in major equipment and processes, including blast furnaces and basic oxygen furnaces, accelerate the upgrade and replacement of energy-consuming equipment such as motors, pumps, fans, boilers, oxygen generators, air compressors, and transformers and implement retrofits and upgrades for waste heat recovery and residual energy power generation, while strengthening the recovery and utilization of byproduct gas, waste heat, and residual pressure.

    Primary aluminum industry should drive energy-saving and carbon-reduction retrofits in key equipment such as aluminum electrolytic cells, with the adoption of advanced technologies and equipment, optimize high-efficiency recovery and cascade utilization systems for flue gas waste heat, and promote the application of low-temperature waste heat power generation technologies.
