Capacity replacement plan issued for Jiujiang Pinggang's integrated upgrade project

Jiangxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology published a public notice on July 10 regarding the capacity replacement plan for the integrated upgrade and revamp project of Jiujiang Pinggang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. The public comment period runs from July 10 to July 31, 2026.
The company plans to construct two 2,340-cubic-meter blast furnaces equivalent to a total iron smelting capacity of 3,982,600tpa, as well as one 140-tonne converter, and two 150-tonne converters, representing a total steel smelting capacity of 4,716,700tpa. Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2026, with commissioning targeted for December 2028.
