Ukraine reports 0.2% dip in pig iron output for H1 2026

Ukraine's pig iron production amounted to 670,600 metric tons in June 2026, up 5.7% month-on-month and 1.3% year-on-year, according to data released by the Ukrainian Steel Association Ukrmetallurgprom.
In the same month, the country's crude steel output rose 9.8% month-on-month and 11.2% year-on-year to 690,800 metric tons, while rolled steel production reached 599,800 metric tons, up 11.5% month-on-month and 6.5% year-on-year.
For the first half of 2026, Ukraine produced 3.66 million metric tons of pig iron, a 0.2% year-on-year decline. Crude steel production totaled 3.57 million metric tons, down 3.2% year-on-year, and rolled steel production stood at 2.94 million metric tons, decreasing by 4.3% year-on-year.
