Brazil launches anti-dumping probe on welded carbon steel pipe imports from China

Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) has initiated a formal anti-dumping investigation into welded carbon steel pipes imported from China, following allegations that these products have caused injury to domestic manufacturers. The petition was filed by Confab Industrial S.A. (Tenaris Confab).
The probe covers welded pipes with a circular cross-section, a yield strength below 60 ksi, and a nominal outside diameter ranging from 14 inches (355.6 mm) to 48 inches (1,219.2 mm), regardless of wall thickness or end finish. The products fall under Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) tariff codes 7305.11.00, 7305.12.00, 7305.19.00, 7305.31.00, 7305.39.00, 7306.19.00, and 7306.30.00.
The dumping investigation period covers July 2024 to June 2025, while the injury analysis period spans from July 2020 through June 2025.
