MOIL Limited has reported an outstanding operational performance for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27, achieving its highest-ever Q1 production. The state-owned manganese producer recorded output of 5.08 lakh metric tons between April and June, representing a 1.2% year-on-year increase, while sales volumes reached 3.68 lakh metric tons, up 3.37% over the same period last year-underscoring sustained growth in both extraction and market demand.
Despite seasonal monsoon challenges that typically begin in June, MOIL has successfully ramped up production. With India's steelmaking capacity targeting 300 million tonnes per annum by 2030, domestic manganese demand remains robust. As the country's largest producer of manganese ore, MOIL's operational performance serves as a key barometer for the public-sector 'Metal & Mining' index.
