Capacity replacement plan issued for Shouguang Juneng Special Steel's new EAF project

On July 6, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province released the capacity replacement plan for the new 130-ton electric arc furnace (EAF) project of Shandong Shouguang Juneng Special Steel Co., Ltd. for public review. The public comment period runs from July 6, 2026, to July 27, 2026.
The project will be located in Shouguang City in Shandong Province and will install a 130-ton electric arc furnace which represents an alloy steel smelting capacity of 1,000,000tpa, with construction scheduled to begin in October 2027 and commissioning planned for September 2029.
As part of the capacity replacement, a 70-ton electric arc furnace, equivalent to 443,900tpa capacity, and a converter, equivalent to 887,700tpa capacity, will be dismantled in August 2029.
