Selkirk Copper targets mid-2028 restart following strong drill results
Selkirk Copper Mines, a restart-stage developer of copper-gold-silver assets, is advancing toward production of high-quality copper concentrate by mid-2028. The project benefits from existing camp infrastructure, a fully equipped mill, and extensive historical operating data.
An updated Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) are scheduled for release in July 2026. These studies will underpin a targeted mine life of 12 to 15 years, supported by an integrated open-pit and underground mining approach, with production split roughly evenly between the two methods.
On the operational front, the company's current planning assumes a processing rate of 4,100 tonnes per day-equivalent to approximately 1.5 million tonnes annually-yielding around 30,000 tonnes of copper-equivalent metal in concentrate per year. On average, this is expected to translate to 18,000–22,000 tonnes of copper, 25,000 ounces of gold, and 250,000 ounces of silver annually.
