Ukraine's Zaporizhstal reports production decline in first half of 2026

Zaporizhstal, a Ukrainian steel mill owned by Metinvest, has released its production figures for June and the first six months of 2026.
In June, the mill produced 301,200 metric tons of pig iron, 284,900 metric tons of crude steel, and shipped 243,700 metric tons of rolled products, reflecting year-on-year increases of 2.9 percent, 6.5 percent, and 10.6 percent, respectively.
However, for the January-to-June period of this year, Zaporizhstal's pig iron output totaled 1.56 million metric tons, down 9.5 percent year on year. Crude steel production and rolled product shipments reached 1.44 million metric tons and 1.27 million metric tons, respectively, representing year-on-year declines of 7.7 percent and 3.4 percent.
