Dalian Dongfei Special Steel Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony on June 26 for its new intelligent manufacturing base in Wanli Subdistrict, Jinpu New Area, marking the start of a RMB200 million (USD 29.44 million) development.
The project occupies 35,400 square meters of land with a total floor area of approximately 50,000 square meters. Facilities will include standardized production workshops, a dedicated R&D building, and comprehensive support amenities. Core operations will encompass mold and die frame material processing, mold parts manufacturing, high-quality special steel surface treatment, and heat treatment services. Full completion and commercial operation are targeted for the end of 2027.
Upon commissioning, the base will achieve a special steel output of 20,000tpy. The facility will be fully equipped with automated production equipment, intelligent quality inspection systems, and a big-data production scheduling platform. This digital infrastructure will enable end-to-end supply chain control spanning raw material processing, precision grinding, heat treatment, finished product inspection, and warehouse dispatch--effectively addressing long-standing industry pain points including capacity bottlenecks, inconsistent quality control, and high energy consumption.
