Vietnam reviews anti-dumping duties on coated steel imports from South Korea and China

Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has launched a review of anti-dumping (AD) duties imposed on coated steel products originating from South Korea and China. The Trade Remedies Authority is accepting reassessment applications from interested parties through July 14.
The investigation was initiated following complaints from five domestic manufacturers-including Hoa Sen Group, Nam Kim Steel, Ton Phuong Nam, Ton Dong A, and China Steel And Nippon Steel Vietnam-which demonstrated that dumped imports had caused injury to the local industry. In response, Vietnam implemented tariffs last August, setting final AD rates of up to 15.67% for South Korean goods and 37.13% for Chinese products.
Vietnamese authorities had previously confirmed a direct link between these low-cost imports and material harm to domestic mills. The ongoing review will determine whether to maintain, adjust, or lift the existing anti-dumping duties.
