China CAMC to drive 120,000 tpa aluminium smelter expansion in Angola

China CAMC Engineering has secured a major contract to expand Angola's aluminium smelter capacity. The project, valued at RMB 1.72 billion (approximately USD 253.39 million), reinforces the company's growing role in the country's industrial development.
The contract pertains to Phase II (Sections 1–6) of the Huatong Angola Electrolytic Aluminium Production Line Project, which involves expanding the production line by an additional annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes.
Under the agreement, CAMC Jiangsu will be responsible for engineering design, equipment procurement, installation, and subsequent commissioning activities.
The expansion is expected to significantly enhance Angola's aluminium production capabilities, supporting the nation's broader industrialization objectives. It also represents a key milestone in China CAMC Engineering's overseas infrastructure and industrial portfolio.
