Eldorado Gold Corporation announced on June 8 that it has produced first copper concentrate at its wholly owned McIlvenna Bay Project in east-central Saskatchewan, Canada. The milestone marks a significant addition to Eldorado's already diversified asset portfolio and further strengthens the company's operating platform in Canada.
Wet commissioning of the McIlvenna Bay processing plant was completed recently. Following the start of hot commissioning, the first batch of copper concentrate was produced on June 7, 2026. The operations team is now focused on ramping up toward the plant's nameplate capacity of 4,900 tonnes per day.
Key activities during the ramp-up phase include optimizing the flotation circuit and reagent addition performance, as well as completing the paste plant and related underground infrastructure-including the paste plant reticulation system-to support ongoing mine and plant production increases. The company expects to achieve commercial production at McIlvenna Bay in the third quarter of 2026.
