Ukraine's Zaporizhstal posts production decline in January-May 2026

Zaporizhstal, the Ukrainian steel mill owned by Metinvest, has announced its production results for May and the first five months of 2026.
In May, the mill produced 242,100 metric tonnes of pig iron, 243,400 metric tonnes of crude steel, and shipped 208,900 metric tonnes of rolled products, representing year-on-year declines of 17.8%, 12.4%, and 10.4%, respectively.
During the January–May period of 2026, Zaporizhstal's pig iron output amounted to 1.26 million metric tonnes, down 12.0% year on year. Crude steel production totaled 1.16 million metric tonnes, a decrease of 10.7%, while rolled product shipments reached 1.03 million metric tonnes, down 6.3% compared to the same period in the previous year.
